With the playoffs now beginning, Pinny threw some interesting lines up there today... Again, I'm waiting until moneylines come out, but in the meantime, does anyone have a list of the openers?

One play for right now that I think is real good...

San Jose @ Colorado over 112.5 (3.5 units -104)

I saw the openers. They were:

GA -5.5 103
NY -2 103
SJ -1.5 113.5
LA -4 103

I played GA under 103, NY -2, and bought SJ down to -1.

Thanks guys. I'm gonna wait until moneylines get thrown up there before I take anything in this mess.

Orlando (+1.5) @ New York 1st half (3 units -108): Preds will likely start the game with the football. New York certainly wants to kick off, and Preds playoff history under Gruden suggests that they'll take the ball over half the time that they win the toss. I'll take my chances the Preds can keep up for a half if they don't anyway. Orlando has a much better kicking situation than New York does, so the same # of TDs both ways and we're okay.

SJ SUCKS on the road and has only won 1 road playoff game - so why should we think they will win again. Gimme Crush on the M/L

Orlando is better than NY - but not on the road they aren't where NY is tough to beat at home. gimme NY here -2.5

LA is playing for "Al" and the least penalized team and #1 in turnover margin to win their first-ever p'off game and cover -3

GA will beat TB - but by 5? pass

Oof... Sorry Winky, I'm not liking all of these picks here... I'm going to lay off of the Preds now that Jay Taylor is out and Gruden is threatening to go for it on every 4th down... and lord knows about kickoffs... So the answer here is many many points... Expect the Preds to onside kick probably 30% of the time that they score, and because they're going to go for is on every 4th down knowing Gruden (who might go for 2 every TD as well to keep this guy named "Hinsley" off of the field), expect some excess points once again, like the first time these teams played. So today, in addition to the already bet, I've got...

Orlando/New York over 102 (5 units +100): No kicker + Aaron Garcia should = lots of points... I hope I'm wrong because I don't think the Preds can shoot out with the Dragons, but this is a generous number in this situation. Orlando not having a kicker is probably worth about 10 points in the o/u and another 4 for New York... Meaning NY moneyline is a great play, but I can't play against my Preds like that.

Tampa (ml) @ Georgia (1.5 units +167): Don't ever... EVER give me Tim Marcum's team at over 2.50-1. Never. Not at home, not on the road, not on the moon... Not against anyone. I've been saying this one all week to my friends... Tampa's gonna beat Georgia this week and they're gonna do it by playing Tim Marcum, Tampa Bay Storm football. This was a horrible draw for Georgia, but whether it was Orlando or Tampa it was a horrible draw.

Chicago (ml) @ Los Angeles (2.5 units +138): I've got the better team in a better spot, on a hotter streak (1 straight... lol)... I've got a dangerous team, I've got a hungry team... I've got the better QB, I've got the better group of WRs, I've got the better defense.... But I'm going into a nasty place to go play football against a team that seems like it's blessed. Here's hoping that the aura surrounding Los Angeles ends today, but if the Avengers win, I don't think anyone around the league is going to be overly disappointed. LA is a feel good story, but Cinderella almost never wins the championship.

Colorado (ml) vs. San Jose (2 units +131): I hate this play. I really do. San Jose is the best team in the AFL and they should be favorites to win it all, despite the fact that they're the 4 seed in the West... Colorado's played horrible football of late, and I don't know what leads me to believe that they're going to get it done today, but the Crush are a deadly home team, and a packed Pepsi Center should help them out a lot more than they did in that 89-41 thrashing about a month's time ago. Mark Grieb will throw an incompletion today... promise... But the Sabercats ran up the score in search of the record by leaving Grieb in the VAST majority of the game that was over at halftime, and Dailey knows this... One of the best coaches in the AFL will find a way to get it done at home against the defending champs.

No props this week... I'm disappointed... Maybe next week when both games are on NBC. Best of luck to whomever your teams are this week.

Guru-
OLY/CRIS has that ORL/NY total at 101 so hope you get that instead of 102+100.
my limit database show these teams over 4-0 although 3 of those were in ORL.

Hopefully the point doesn't matter... I do most of my AFL betting through Pinny, and occassionally Olympic because of Wednesday lines, but that's good information to have. Thanks Tom.

San Jose, without looking has won more than 1 road playoff game in their lives... I'm pretty sure they've won 2 Arena Bowls on the road, including last season, and I know they beat Tampa in Tampa maybe 6 or 7 years ago in round 1 before crashing out against Kurt Warner's Barnstormers, who went on to get beat in the Arena Bowl by Arizona.

One other thing about futures....

If you all remember correctly, I am on San Jose and Colorado to win the Arena Bowl from quite some time ago. If you have these two teams, next week we're going to be betting on LA/Chi in all likelihood for at least a small wager to scalp that part of the bet. If Colorado or San Jose wins next week, we'll do the same in the Arena Bowl and make sure we cash a bit on those bets.

For those of you that HAVEN'T gotten in on these futures, I suggest taking a flier on the Chicago Rush and the Tampa Bay Storm.

31-14 Preds, New York driving with like 25 seconds left in the half... I'm doing a lot more watching the game than anything else... now 31-20 PAT pending for NY with 18 ticks left...

31-21 at the half in favor of Orlando... Preds are in big trouble in the 2nd half and I don't see how they win this game. Team looks pretty crappy for being up 10 points.

Colorado 35 - San Jose 28 with the Saberkitties getting the ball first in the 2nd half. Should sail over in this game, and hopefully the Crush hang on.

Horrible break for Tampa... they went from up a stop to down a stop after a missed FG, a Georgia TD, and then a missed FG returned for a TD to put Georgia up 7 at the half, getting the ball.

As for Chicago, they're down a ton and probably don't have much hope at coming back down 11 and the ball going into the 2nd half.
